So, I’ve finally stuck my neck out and given my first rave review, to the brilliant Brootal Moose, who I implore you all to check out should you get the chance.
In other news this week, I’ve had what will no doubt be the first of many critical disagreements with the NME, in this case over the new Wolfmother album, which I happen to think is pretty bloody good, whereas they seem to think it’s the worse thing commited to CD in a long time.
Finally, I headed over to the Academy on Sunday to check out Bowling for Soup, a long standing guilty pleasure of mine (as you will soon discover by reading the write-up here). Needless to say, a good time was had by all, and a special mention goes to Gemma Harris and her awesome photography of the night, examples of which, along with many others, can be found at her Flickr page - www.flickr.com/photos/gemma-louise-harris.

In my highest profile assignment thus far, I managed to wangle an interview with Barry from Shinedown, the transcript of which can be found here. Enjoy!
EDIT: after my chat with Barry, his PR people kindly sent me some tickets for the Manc gig - read the review here. Also, here’s a few pics of the evening by the very talented Miss Gemma Harris…
You can see more of Gem’s work at her Flickr page, but please don’t use any of the images without prior permission!

Three more reviews are now online for your reading pleasure, including one for Ungdomskulen, who could quite easily give Varg Vikernes a run for his money in the ‘Crazy Norwegian’ stakes, and a rather sanitised version of my thoughts about Barca, which in my opinion, should be avoided at all costs (the bar, that is, not my review).
Ungdomskulen
The Phenomenal Handclap Band
